FUQUAY-VARINA, NC -- George Frederick Kemp, Jr., 86, died Monday, 27 Jul 2009. Funeral services will be 5 p.m. Thursday, 30 Jul 2009 at the Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church. Interment will be Sunday, 2 August 2009 at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, GA.

Mr. Kemp was preceded in death by his parents, George and Valma Kemp; son, Tim Kemp; brother, Jack Kemp and sister, Valma Zachary.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Lee Strother Kemp; sons, George Kemp (Donna) of Opelika, AL and Jimmy Kemp of Angier, NC; daughter-in-law, Sharon Kemp of Fuquay-Varina, NC; grandsons, David and Paul Kemp of Opelika, AL and Randy Kemp of Fuquay-Varina, NC; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Wikle of Townsend, TN.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, beginning at 4 p.m., one hour prior to the service at the Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fuquay-Varina United Methodist Church, 100 S. Judd Parkway, SE, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

Graveside services are planned for 3 p.m. Sunday, 2 Aug 2009 at Marseilles Cemetery in West Point, GA.

Mr. Kemp is survived by his wife, Annie Lee Strother Kemp; sons George (Donna) Kemp of Opelika, AL and Jimmy Kemp of Angier, NC; a daughter-in-law, Sharon Kemp of Fuquay-Varina, NC; grandsons, David and Paul Kemp of Opelika, AL and Randy Kemp of Fuquay-Varina, NC; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Wanda Wikle of Townsend, TN.
