James L. Seachrist, Sr., age 81, of Sellersville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his residence, on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Faix) Seachrist with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Born March 9, 1936 in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Seachrist.

He was an active, longtime member of Indian Creek Church of the Brethren, lifetime member of the Tylersport Volunteer Fire Company and North Penn Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family at his favorite place, his mountain home. He liked taking day trips to Lancaster, going to the races and the sportsman shows.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children Sherry L. McCabe and her husband Paul F., Sr., Donna L. Lord, James L. Seachrist, Jr., Scott E.L. Seachrist and his wife Cheryl L.; Becki L. Kostelac and her husband Larry, Brittany Seachrist, Paul F. McCabe, Jr. and his wife Colleen, Breanne M. McCabe, Cyndi L. Lord; great grandchildren Carter Kintz, Brooklyn Mae and Madison Eve Kostelac.

He was preceded in death by his brother Paul Seachrist, Sr., sister Helen Irene Seachrist, grandson James L. Seachrist III and granddaughter Tyler Seachrist.

Family and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at 11:30 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Indian Creek Church of the Brethren, 821 Main Street, Harleysville, PA 19438, where the family will receive guests from 10:00 - 11:15. Interment will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Ridge Valley.
