Mr. Sterling Walter Dukes, 79, of Lyndhurst Drive, Sun City Center, Florida, died Monday, September 2, 2002 at the Sun City Center.
Mr. Dukes, a former U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and pilot, retired in 1967. He flew in the Continental Air Command. He had homes in Blue Ridge, Ga. and Tampa, Fla. and was an avid golfer and enjoyed reading.
The family was receiving friends at McKoon Funeral Home in Newnan Thursday, Sept. 5 from 6-8 p.m.
A funeral will be at McKoon Funeral Home chapel Friday, Sept. 6, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Searcy Jackson will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Ina Fobbus Dukes, of Sun City Center, Fla.; daughters, Janet Keller and her husband Alan, Jennifer McCollum and her husband LeVan, June Nesbitt and her husband Dave; grandchildren, April Keller, Jill Keller, Allison Massey and Robin Person; three great-grandchildren.
