Andrew Keck Hunt was always called 'Jim'. Sometimes he signed his name as James Hunt. His parents were Wint and Mary (Freund) Hunt. He was their seventh child. His siblings were Georgia, Thomas, Ama, Mary 'Pete', Charlie, Belle, and Clarence 'Babe.'

Jim married Valborg 'Chris' Knudsen twice, once in 1919 in Missouri, and again in 1931 in Chicago, IL. They had a son who was mixed up at birth with another child. The hospital noted the error, Jim and Chris shared custody of the two boys with the other parents. They believed that the boy that was called Jimmy was their son. Both boys died in their late teens or early twenties. They had a daughter named Jeanne. Jeanne died when she was 36 years old. Leaving behind three children. Chris and Jim divorced before 1940. His grandchildren called him Ol' Ba. They loved him and his wonderful sense of humor. Jim lived with his sisters Pete and Belle at the time of his death.
