Carl J. Carlson

The people of Chetek and Dovre were deeply grieved to learn of the untimely death of Carl J. Carlson, one of Dovre's reputable and substantial farmers. The end came last Tuesday and was due to a stroke of paralysis although Mr. Carlson had been sick for several months having had a severe attack of the grip earlier in the spring.

Deceased was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, August 1, 1877. Most of his life, however, was spent in the town of Dovre where he acquired considerable land and had been active in community affairs. He was a life long member of the Dovre Lutheran church and always a loyal worker in the cause of temperance.

Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife and seven children; also his aged father Martin Carlson, two brothers and two sisters all of whom were present in the last hours.

Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon, Rev. H. Lund officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in the Dovre Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Carlson and her children, father, brothers and sisters have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.

Married Anna Josephine Aronson on November 15, 1902 in Hayward, Wisconsin

Children:
Martin Fritjou Carlson 1902-1948
Agnes Irene Carlson 1905-1913
