Funeral services will be at 8 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Convent Chapel,
Silver Lake, and burial will be in the convent cemetery.
The former Barbara Hoffman was born at Cooperstown Jan. 11, 1871, daughter of
the late Joseph and Katherine Geimer Hoffman. When 22 she entered the Community
of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. She was a pioneer Sister at Holy
Family Hospital, serving as a nurse in charge of the operating room for more
than 40 years. Her entire life was spent in this community caring for the sick,
with the exception of a few years which she spent caring for patients in a
hospital at Zanesville, Ohio.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews from this vicinity.
Friends may call at the Holy Family Convent from 7 to 8:30 o’clock this Tuesday
evening.
