DEATH OF MRS. PAUL BEATTIE FOLLOWS OPERATION
Mrs. Cecelia Himes Beattie, aged 33 years, wife of Paul A. Beattie, Shippensburg, died in the Harrisburg hospital at 4 o'clock Saturday morning. Mrs. Beattie was taken ill on Thursday night and rushed to the Harrisburg hospital where she underwent an operation for appendicitis early Friday morning. The operation was considered successful and her sudden death came as a great shock to her family and friends.
Mrs. Beattie was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Himes and was a member of the Presbyterian church, a teacher in the Sunday School and prominent socially. She attended the Shippensburg schools, the Normal school and after leaving Penn Hall entered the Mary Baldwin college.
The survivors are her parents, husband and two sons, Rees and George and one brother, Rees S. Himes of Brooklyn, N. Y.
Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock on Monday afternoon at the residence. Rev. Curtis O. Bosserman of Cape May, N. J., officiated at the service and burial was made in Spring Hill cemetery.
