HOLYOKE – Eleanor M “Ellie” Burns, 51 of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, died there on Saturday Sept. 28, following a brief illness, she was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late William H and Eleanor V (Conner) Burns and was a 1969 graduate of Holyoke High School. Ellie had lived in the Winston-Salem area for the past 15 years and was Vice President of Triad Mortgage Guarantee there. She was a communicant of St Thomas Church in NC. Ellie leaves four sisters, Barbara Beaudoin of North Easton, MA, Eileen Wilson of Hatfield, Patricia Tisdell of Holyoke, and Kerry Day of Holyoke, four brothers,William H Burns, Jr of Chicopee, Daniel C Burns of Holyoke, Timothy P Burns of Belchertown, and Brian M Burns of Holyoke; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at 9 a.m. from the Barry J Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St, followed by a Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of her family. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association General Membership Services Center, 1660 Duke St.,Alexandria, VA 22314.
