Blanche Ambur was born August 24, 1925 to G.A. and Ingeborg (Boe) Ambur in Presho, SD. She grew up and attended school in the Presho area. She moved to Omaha in 1971 where she worked at Goodwill before returning to Presho in 1972. She married Harold Archer July 1, 1972. Harold wrote "he deeply loves Blanche and only has deep respect for her."
Blanche belonged to the Capitol Heights Baptist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Presho American Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold, and an infant sister, Esther.
