Edward J. Baass, 79, of 503 E. Constitution, died Thursday at 11:32 a.m. at a local hospital.
He was co-owner of Baass Concrete Co. and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Mr. Baass was born Feb. 14, 1901, in Lavaca County to the late John F. and Frances Hanak Baass. He was a resident of Victoria for 68 years.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roy Rihn officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home until 8:45 a.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church for services.
He is survived by his wife, Ella Baass; a daughter, Mrs. Willard C. Schmidt; three sister, Frances Baass, Evelyn Baass, and Sister Francis Baass; a brother, Herman Baass; and one granddaughter, all of Victoria.
