Sr. Dolorose Goetzler
Former Sister at Good Samaritan Dies on Friday
Word was received in this city Friday of the sudden death of Sister Dolorose, aged 76, who was stationed at Good Samaritan Hospital in this city for many years. She died Friday morning at 8:30 o'clock at the Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
Sister Dolorose came to Good Samaritan Hospital in this city in 1902 and remained until 1934. She was considered one of the finest and most conscientious workers at the hospital. She returned to this city for a visit in June, 1937. She then returned to Wisconsin in November.
Sister Borgia and Sister Mary Romaine, both of Good Samaritan hospital, recently spent a few days visiting her. They indicated that although she had been in failing health for a number of years, she appeared very much herself and did not seem to be so near death.
During her time at Good Samaritan she was particularly noted for her fine and efficient work in the operating room having assisted in a vast number of difficult operations.
