CATHERINE STOCKINGER
(1856 - 1937)

Mrs. Catherine Stockinger, 80, lifelong resident of the city, died Saturday evening at home, 901 Hamilton street. She had been seriously ill since January. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. from the Wattawa, Urbane and Schlei funeral home and at nine o'clock from the St. Boniface church. Interment will be in Calvary cemetery.

Mrs. Stockinger, nee Goetzler, was born in this city in 1856 and was married to Casper Stockinger in 1877. Mr. Stockinger, who was one of the charter members of the Manitowoc Marine band, was a cooper by trade. He died 31 years ago.

Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Hans Bauer, Mrs. George Pfeffer and Mrs. David Dwyer, all of this city; Mrs. Irene Splegel, Milwaukee; two sons, Dr. Richard Stockinger, Milwaukee, Rudolph, city; a brother, Edward Goetzler, city; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Veckel, Belvidere, Ill., Sister Dolaresa; Zanesville, Ohio, Mrs. Helen Germeshausen, Milwaukee.

The body may be viewed at the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home.
