Rev. Charles (David) Dodd, 44, Keavy, departed this life on Feb. 19, 2008. He was the pastor of Jackson Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in London, KY. David was a very spiritual and loving pastor, husband, father and friend. He was part of the Emmaus Community. He was employed at Todd Truss as the business manager for 10 years. He was also a volunteer for the Keavy Fire Department for 5 years.
The son of the late Major Carl H. and Libbie Dodd, he was born Sept. 19, 1963, in Keavy, KY. He is survived by his wife, Demetra Dodd, Keavy, his children, Dasha Dodd, Devin Dodd, Deanna Dodd, Danessa Dodd, and Dereck Dodd, all of Keavy, KY. One brother Carl (Skip) Dodd and wife, Patsy of Keavy, KY, one sister Lorana (Lonie) Dodd Woodall of Texas, parents-in-law, Zenas Collett, Sr. and Phyllis, Liberty, IN, six nephews, six nieces, three great-nephews, three great-nieces and a host of other family and friends. He is also preceded in death by his grandmother, Flora Rose.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Sat. Feb. 23, 2008, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Coffey, Rev. Don Branscum, Rev. Mike Seals, Rev. Brian Lewis, and Rev. Brian Bond officiating. Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Fri. at Bowling Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to Jackson Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.
