Another Old Veteran Has Gone to Rest.
Wm. Hubbard, Member of Local G.A.R. Passed Away last Night.
Again are the officers of the G.A.R. called upon to enter on their records the name of a departing comrade. This time the name of William L. Hubbard must be placed with those who have crossed to the other shore. Mr. Hubbard, who had been sick for some time, died at his home on Eighth street, Tuesday night April 20, and will be buried at Zion cemetery, in Republic county, the time of which will be announced later. He was born in Illinois on November 20, 1838. He was a member of Co. B., 34th, Illinois Volunteer Infantry during the war. He was three times married, his two former wives dying. He was married to the wife who survives him on July 5th, 1879 [sic 1899]. The deceased was a member of the Baptist church. Besides his wife he leaves a son and a daughter to survive him.
