Paul L Ritchott, 70, served health boards
CHICOPEE – Paul L. Ritchott, 70, retired owner of Ritchott's Barber Shop and a former member of the state and local board of health, died Monday in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
Ritchott was a barber for 51 years, retiring in 1984.
He had also served as Chicopee golf and traffic commissioner.
A lifelong resident of Chicopee, he attended local schools and wass a graduate of the Braums Barber School in Hartford.
He was an Army vereran of Word War II serving with the 104th Infantry Unit of the 26th Yankee Division.
H was the first president of the Chicopee Boys Club and was also a past president of the Chicopee Lions Club.
He was a member of the Assumption Drum Corps, the Holy Name Society of St. Stanislaus Church, Past Times Athletic Club, American Legion Post 452, the Polish American Veterans Club and the French Canadian Union.
He leaves his wife, the former Anne Gawron; a son, Kenneth P.; a daughter, Dolores Pietras; a brother, Conrad; a sister, Irene Turcotte, all of Chicopee, and a grandchild.
The funeral will be Thursday at Grise Funeral Home and in St. Stanislaus Church with burial in the parish cemetery.
