Dennis was baptised the following day, on 27 March 1869, in the Parish of Tagoat, Diocese of Ferns, County Wexford, Ireland. John Rossiter and Alice Nowland were listed as Sponsor Witness 1 and 2.
According to Ireland's Civil Registration of Marriages Index, Dennis Mythen married Mary Catherine Ennis, daughter of Daniel Ennis and Mary[nee Rockfort]Ennis, at St. Mary's Church, located in Tagoat, Diocese of Ferns, Wexford County, Ireland in 1889. Dennis, was 20 years old, and Mary Catherine was 18 years old.
Dennis and Mary Catherine relocated to England after the birth of their first born son, Daniel Jacob Mythen, in September of 1892. The young couple established their residence in Liverpool, Lancashire, England. Later they relocated to Kirkdale, West Derby, Lancashire, England.
The 1911 England Census, revealed that Dennis and Mary were parents of eight children, however only six children were living at the time this particular census was enumerated. Children included: Daniel Jacob,18; Annie T.,9; Alice,7; Maggie E.,3; and Dennis Christopher, 1. The family resided at 48 Elstow Street, Stanley Road, Liverpool. During this period, Dennis Jacob was reported to be employed as a "dock worker".
Dennis Mythen's unexpected death on 14 January 1920, left a terrible void in the lives of those who survived him. Dennis was laid to rest to rest at Ford Cemetery, on the 16th of January 1919. Again,it should be noted that although his date of birth had been listed as being about 1873, within the England & Wales Death Index, 1916-2007; Dennis had been born in March of 1869, as recorded on both his Catholic Birth and Baptismal records. Per England Catholic Burial Records, Dennis Mythen's grave is listed as RD1465. Dennis was just two months shy of his 51st Birthday, when he died. [Note: Find A Grave photographer, Keith Grant, on 14 June 2018, contacted me via Find A Grave and reported the Diocese Records show that Dennis was buried on the 16th of Jan 1920. His age was reported as being 47 years. It was also noted that a child by the name of Carl Dean Mythen, aged 35 months of Crosby Road North, Broomfield, L22, was buried on the 5th of March 1963, in this same grave (RD1465). Owner of this plot was listed as Mary Mythen. ]
Dennis Mythen was survived by his beloved wife, Mary Catherine, and his loving children, and their spouses.
