Mrs. Ruby Irene Blalock Lowmon, 94 of Mershon, passed away early Thursday morning, October 4, 2012, at the Baptist Village Nursing Home.
Born in Mershon, GA on September 10, 1918, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life before moving to Baptist Village five years ago. Mrs. Lowmon had worked in the lunchroom at Patterson Elementary/High School for several years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of Bristol Baptist Church and loved to crochet, quilt and tend to her flowers.
Mrs. Lowmon was a daughter of the late William Monroe & Addie Hyde Blalock. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John D. Lowmon; her sister, Mary "Sis" Lamb; and all four of her brothers, Joe, Wesley, Dewey Monroe and Lesley Blalock.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Horace & Mary Lowman of Mershon, Dewey & Linda Lowman of Offerman and Wendell Lowman of Mershon and John & Linda Lowman of Mershon; 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and several nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Visitation for Mrs. Lowmon will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lowmon will be held at 3:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 7, 2012, at the Pearson-Dial Chapel.
Interment will be in the Bristol Cemetery.
