FAIRBURY - George F. Dart, 89, of Fairbury died at 6:40 a.m. yesterday (Aug. 31, 1991) at the Helen Lewis Smith Pavilion, Fairbury, where he had been a resident since 1983.

His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, the Rev. Stanley Rapp officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Fairbury.

Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Monday at the memorial home.

He was born Sept. 26, 1901, at Fairbury, a son of Charles J. and Cora Mae Lane Dart. He married Madeline M. Stonecypher Jan. 22, 1924, at Fairbury. She died Aug. 25, 1981.

Survivors include two sisters, Anita Scherr, Fairbury, and Marie Fent, Piper City.

He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Mr. Dart, a lifelong Fairbury resident, was a farmer, retiring in 1963. He was also a guard at Pittsburgh Steel in Fairbury from 1963 to 1964.

He was superintendent of ground maintenance for Fairbury Fairgrounds from 1964 to 1981.

Mr. Dart was a member of Fairbury United Methodist Church and a former member of Modern Woodmen of America and Fairbury Odd Fellows Lodge No. 290.

Memorials may be made to the church.
