She was born in Draper, Va. on Sept. 3, 1911 and was the daughter of the late John L. Gannaway and Eva Allison Gannaway.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas A. Gannaway, two sisters, Mary Trigg Gilmer and Ruth G, Bryson and by a nephew, Timothy L. Gannaway.
She was a lifelong member of the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church and she graduated with a BS degree in education in 1933 from the State Teacher's College in Farmville, Va. She was a farmer, school teacher and was a home economist with Appalachian Power Company.
Surviving are: nieces and spouses, Cynthia G. McKeever, Falls Church, Va., Kathie and Mike Van Ronzelen, Salem, Oregon, Jodie, and Tom McClain, Lake Oswego, Oregon; nephews and spouses, Thomas and Judy Gannaway, Viriton, Ohio, Graham and Helen Gilmer, Lynchburg, Va. Tom and Judy Gilmer, Yorba Linda, Calif; sister-in-law, Mary P. Gannaway, Draper, Va.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. from the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church with . Rev. Preston O. Sartelle, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Following the committal service there will be. a reception for friends and family in the fellowship hall of the church. Visiting will be Tuesday evening from Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. The family wishes that memorials may be made to the Draper Valley Presbyterian Church, Old Baltimore1 Road, Draper, Va. 24324.
