Louis G. Ackermann

Louis G. Ackermann, 65, of 108 Maple Ave., Cedar Grove, died here Sunday at Heritage Nursing Home after an illness of three months.

He was born on April 21, 1905, in Cedar Grove, son of the late Arthur and Jennie Nyenhuis Ackermann. A lifelong resident there, he worked for 12 years at Kohler Co., 12 years at Gilson Foundry, Port Washington, and eight years at the Sheboygan Foundry before retiring in 1970.

He married Melita Marsielje on May 4, 1929 in Cedar Grove. Mr. Ackermann was a member of First Reformed Church.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Carl of South Carolina, Ronald of Glendale and Roy of Mundlein, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Eugene (Linda) Damkot of Cedar Grove; four sisters, Mrs. Warren Kreunen of Bangor, Wis.; Mrs. John Claerbout and Mrs. Fred Tempas, both of Sheboygan Falls, and Mrs. Warren Te Ronde of Milwaukee, and 10 grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a brother and sister.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday following 1:15 p.m. family devotions at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove, the Rev. Cornelius Hoekstra, pastor officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Hartley Funeral Home in Cedar Grove and at the church from noon Wednesday until time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Ackermann’s name.
