Mr. Elliott owned and operated the GL Elliott trucking company for 25 years, owned and operated O'Neils Corner Cafe for 27 years, and owned and operated a Honda motorcycle dealership in Watseka. He was born April 4, 1921, in Gate City, Va., the son of Francis Kay and Alpha Compton Elliott. He married the former Marie Foster Dec. 5, 1939, in Kentland, Ind. Gordon and his wife, Marie, celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary this past December. He was a member of the Watseka Elks, Kiwanis, past president of the Shewami Country Club and past deputy sheriff. He enjoyed playing golf, being a pilot, fishing, water skiing, hunting, bowling and riding motorcycles.
Surviving are his wife, Marie; one son and daughter-inlaw, Larry and Donna Elliott, of Denver, Colo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Norman Ailey, of Ashkum, and Donna and Jim Newman, of Winter Haven, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and two great greatgrandchildren; one brother, Jack Elliott, of Watseka; two sisters, Mary Hill and Faye Elliott, both of Watseka; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Cecil Elliott, James Elliott, Frances K. Elliott Jr. and Scott
