GLENNVILLE - James Talmadge Thompson, 81, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Camellia Health & Rehab in Claxton.
He was born in Tattnall County January 13, 1931 to Mose and Lala Bacon Thompson and lived here all of his life.
He worked in construction, building homes and as a foreman with Scott Bridge Company for over 25 years.
After retirement, he worked with Tattnall County solid waste disposal for several years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by, Wife, Linda Fields Thompson of Glennville; Children, Brenda (Timmy) Dubberly of Glennville, Judy (Dean) Cameron of Claxton, June Cowart of South Carolina, Tammy (Jesse) Baker of Statesboro, Mandy (Grant) Goodrich of Bluffton, SC, Tony (Deborah) Thompson of Glennville, Danny (Sherry) Thompson of Richmond Hill, Randy (Rachel) Thompson of Claxton, Tommy Thompson of Collins; Sisters, Rozzie (Ed) Waker of Michigan, Delene Mann of Glennville; Brother, Joe (Catherine) Thompson of Glennville, 21 Grandchildren, 20 Great-grandchildren, 9 Great-great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin 6:00 P.M., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M., Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery.
