Joe Edward Thompson, 83, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah. Joe was born in Glennville November 11, 1036 to Mose W. and Lala Bacon Thompson and lived here all of his life. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was retired from Claxton Poultry and worked with Oliver Gulf Oil Distributer in Glennville for many years. He was a living caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church and attended Watermelon Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kathrine C. Thompson.
He is survived by: Children, Sheila Brewton of Glennville, GA
Mary Smiley of Hinesville, GA
Sisters, Delene Mann of Glennville, GA
Rozzie Wauker of Washington, Michigan
Four Grandchildren, Five Great Grandchildren several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:30 pm, Saturday at the Chapel of Brannen Kennedy Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in Glennville Memorial Gardens.
