Elsie Bickel
Miss Elsie Bickel, 97, formerly of Remington, died at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in Little Company of Mary Health Facility, San Pierre, where she had been a resident several years.
Born in Shanoa, Ill., on April 13, 1883,she was a daughter of David A. and Mary E. (Scanlon) Bickel.
Moving to Indiana when she was ten years old, she was a 1901 graduate of Remington High School, and had been employed as a teacher by area schools 20 years.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington and the Garden Club.
Surviving are three nieces ands three nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be conducted from Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Remington at 10 a.m. Friday with Fr. Donald Eder officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Friends may call at Stitz Funeral Home, Remington, after 6 p.m. Thursday. Rosary services will be conducted from the funeral home at 8 p.m. Thursday.
