EAST MOLINE - William "Bill" Brown, 84, East Moline, died Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Genesis East, Davenport.

Burial in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Bill was born July 9, 1928, in Moline, the son of Chester and Margaret Brown. He owned and operated Bill Brown Construction in East Moline for many years. He had been married to Gladys Lindstrom, Alberta Burgess and Sandra Henrichs. Bill was a charter member of Aldersgate Methodist Church, Moline. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers local 77. Bill served on the Silvis Heights Water Board and will be remembered for being a skilled backhoe operator. He loved to dance and was the first generation of Generations Bar and Grill, Moline.

Survivors include his children, Karla Seger, East Moline, Sandra (William) Brusso, East Moline, Randy (Sheila) Brown, Davenport, Stacey Brown, Hampton; step-daughter Stephanie Bradley, Moline; grandchildren, Tammy, Mike, Natalie, Lisa, Lauri, Brec and Dakota; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his sister, Shirley (Jim) Rounds, Hooppole, Ill.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Dennis William Brown and William "Billy" Brown Jr., a brother and a sister.
