Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2002 at Holy
family Convent.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2002 at
Holy Family Convent Chapel. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial
will be Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem, with burial to follow at Holy
Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born on July 24, 1910 in Petersburg, Iowa, daughter of the late
John and Josephine Hoefer, Crubel. The former Olivia Crubel entered the
convent in 1927 and professed her vows in 1930.
Sister Julia served as a homemaker at St. Joseph, Waukesha, Sturgeon
Bay; St. Francis, Hollandtown; St. Paul, Wrightstown; St. Mary
Rhinelander, St. Therese, Appleton; St. Philip, Green Bay; St. Mary,
Kaukauna; Holy Innocents, Manitowoc, Wis.; St. Mary, West Point, Neb.;
St. Anne, Escanaba, Mich.; Marist Seminary, Washington, D.C.; St.
Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio; and St. Benedict, Cambridge, Ohio. She also
performed a variety of services in the Motherhouse Kitchen, bakery and
sewing room. Since 1996 she has been residing in St. Rita Health Center
at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2002 at Holy Family
Convent, Manitowoc, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting with funeral
arrangements.
