Sister Clementine Buchmelter, 86, of Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc,
died Thursday afternoon, March 14, 1991, at the Convent.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Convent
Chapel. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Robert H.
Reppen, O.Praem. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born June 5, 1904, in Mingo Junction, Ohio, daughter of the late
John and Anna Rasko Buchmelter. Sister entered the Convent in 1919 and
professed her vows in 1923. Sister earned a B.A. Degree from college of
St. Joseph Albuquerque, N.M. and a B.A. from Loyola University, Los
Angeles, Calif. Sister served as an elementary school teacher at Topawa,
Tucson, Pisinemo, Covered Wells, Ariz.; Ayrshire, Iowa; Wellston, Ohio;
Kaukauna, Francis Creek, Hollandtown, Maple Grove, Sturgeon Bay,
Marinette, Cooperstown, Hilbert, Neopit, Appleton, Reedsville,
Mackville, Greenleaf and Green Bay, Wis.
Survivors include The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; three
sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mrs. Anna Maggs of Woodburn, Ore.,
Agnes and Stephen Tancek of Mingo Junction, Ohio, Theresa and John
Galowinia of Steubenville, Ohio; a brother and two sisters-in-law,
Edward and Margaredt Buchmelter of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mrs. Vivian
Buchmelter of Follansbee, W. Va.
Friends may call at Holy Family Convent, 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Prayer
Service will be held at 7 p.m. at the Holy Family Convent Chapel.
