Saguache resident Abel Quintana, 56, passed August 9, 2000 at the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Salida, CO. he was born on April 1, 1944 in Salida to Thomas Quintana and Consuelo Manchego.
Abel was married to Caria Martinez. he worked for the Saguache County Road and Bridge Department and the town of Saguache.
Abel had four daughters, Carla Chacon of Colorado Springs; Christina Serna of Saguache; Augustina of Castle Rock; and Catherine Hammel of Saguache; three sons, Abel quintana Jr. of Saguache; Augustine Quintana of Salida and Benjamin Quintana of Colorado Springs, also two sisters, Mary Gutierrez of Everett, Wash., and Mary Jane Swindle of Saguache; seven brothers, Severo , Ernest, Edward, all of Saguache Tom of Salt Lake City, Utah Leo and Joseph from Denver, and Frank of Salida.
Funderal services were held Monday August 14th at St. Agnes Catholic Church followed by interment at Chicago Cemetery in Saguache.
Abel's Aunt Was Teodorita Quintana Archibeque who was my grandmother on my mothers side. She married Elverio Archibeque from Cortez, CO
