Electrician Oliver Allard and his wife Helen Pristas Allard were a God fearing, loyal couple who made their home in Menominee, Michigan. They were parents of three children. Their first born was a girl who came into the world on 23rd July, 1921. She was baptized on 31st July, as Elizabeth Helen at St. Ann's Church. Their second born was Oliver Gerald. When Elizabeth was seven years old, her mother was expecting a third child. There was joy at the birth of their new daughter, Helen Marie, but sadness and grief as that very same day, in December, 1928, three year-year old Oliver succumbed to spinal meningitis.
Elizabeth Allard (called Betty at home) attended the local public school for a year and then entered the second grade at St. Anne School staffed by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
On 13th June, 1935, 13 year old Elizabeth Allard entered Holy Family Convent,Manitowoc. She began her high classes, and on 15th June, 1938, Elizabeth was received into the novitiate as Sister Oliver. Sister Oliver professed her first vows on 15th August, 1940.
Sister Oliver received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Holy Family College and embarked on her teaching apostolate in 1940. Sister Oliver served as a teacher and/or principal at St. Mary, Kaukauna; St. Joseph, Waukesha; St. Agnes, Green Bay; St. Mary, Clarks Mills; St. Wendel, Cleveland; St. Joseph, Oneida; SS. Peter & Paul Kiel; Holy Family, Marinette, Wis.; St. Agnes, Mingo Junction; St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio; and Catholic Central, Menominee, Michigan.
After retiring from the education ministry in 1988, Sister Oliver performed various tasks at San Damiano Convent, Slinger; St. Paul Home & St. Paul Manor, Kaukauna; Holy Redeemer, Two Rivers; and St. Francis Convent, Manitowoc, Wis. She came to St. Rita Health Center in 2004.

Sister Oliver Allard, age 84, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Thursday evening, May 18, 2006, at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
The former Elizabeth Allard was born July 23, 1921, in Menominee, Mich., daughter of the late Oliver and Helen (Pristas) Allard. She entered the Convent in 1935 and professed her vows in 1940. Sister Oliver earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Holy Family College, Manitowoc. Sister Oliver served as a teacher and/or principal at St. Mary, Kaukauna, St. Joseph, Waukesha, St. Agnes, Green Bay, St. Mary, Clarks Mills, St. Wendel, Cleveland, St. Joseph, Oneida, SS Peter & Paul, Kiel, Holy Family, Marinette, all of Wisconsin; St. Agnes, Mingo Junction St. Nicholas, both of Zanesville, Ohio; and Catholic Central, Menominee, Mich. After retiring from active ministry, Sister Oliver performed various tasks at San Damiano Convent, Slinger; St. Paul Home & St. Paul Manor, Kaukauna; Holy Redeemer, Two Rivers; and St. Francis Convent, Manitowoc. Since 2004, she has been residing in St. Rita Health Center at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include The Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; and a sister;: Helen Marie Febian, Menominee, Mich. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother: Oliver Gerald.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 22, 1996, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, where a prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at Holy Family Convent Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Samuel D. Jadin, O. Praem, with burial at Holy Family Convent Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
