Rebecca was the oldest d/o Wesley Lander Taylor. She married William Walter Kidwell, March 12, 1861 in Shelby Co., Missouri.

Rebecca Ann Taylor, daughter of Wesley Lander Taylor and Emmarine Bowles Taylor was born March 24, 1838 in Marion County, Mo. and died in Shelby County, Mo. January 15, 1921, aged 82 years, 9 months and 21 days.

She was married to William Walter Kidwell March 12, 1861, and to this union where born nine children, eight of whom survive, namely Verro and George of Chicago; Charles and Emma of the state of Washington; Mrs. Lilly Rice of Hannibal; John, Mrs. Mollie Magruder and Dora Mae Bush of Shelby County. One child died in infancy. Mr. Kidwell passed away February 17, 1906.

"Aunt Becca" as she was familiarly known, was one of a family of fifteen children, six sisters, five brothers and three half brothers. Of this number, two sisters, Ms. Rosa Bell Gamble of Shelby County and Mrs. Jennie King of Marion County, one brother, Hop Taylor of Texas and two half brothers of Marion County, survive; also twenty one grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

"Aunt Becca" and her husband were charter members of Oakridge church and ever lived a consistent member of same, also a faithful attendant at its services and even after her hearing became so impaired that she could not hear very much of what the speaker said, yet she found great comfort and joy in attending church services.

During the life of her husband, their home was always open to friends and preachers of the Gospel always found a warm welcome. For the past year or two she had spent her days with her daughter, Mrs. Dora Bush, who has so faithfully cared for her. "Aunt Becca" loved company and was always glad to welcome friends and relatives in her home. She was very active until her last sickness which was of six weeks duration. For several years she has expressed a desire to go when the Lord called.
