Funeral services for Verro Franklin Kidwell, husband of the former Lydia Whaley of this city, were held in the chapel of the Lewis Bros. Funeral home here, Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Kidwell passed away November 14, at his home in Chicago, following an illness of only about six hours. He was 73 years of age.

Mr. Kidwell was born in Shelbina, May 24, 1863. He was married to Miss Whaley of Palmyra in 1893 and to this union one son was born. For a period of 48 years he was employed with the Rosenbaum Brothers Commission company in Chicago. Mr. Kidwell was a charter member of the University Christian church in that city, and had been a member of the Masonic lodge for 28 years.

Funeral services were held at the Chicago church with Dr. Scriber Ames, the pastor, conducting the rites. The remains were then brought to Palmyra where another short service was held Tuesday, the Rev. C. H. Bundy being in charge. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery.

Besides his son and one grandson, Mr. Kidwell is survived by four sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Kidwell passed away in 1928.
