Susie Elmina (Minie) Moore Dunn Cole of Gatesville died Jan. 1 at a local nursing home. She was 97.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Gandy officiating. Burial was in Ater Cemetery.
Mrs. Cole was born March 16, 1901, in Stonewall County, the daughter of the late Mathew Jefferson and Mary Tennessee Moore. She came to Coryell County at the age of 12 and was reared in Coryell County. On April 25, 1921, she married Henry Green Dunn in Gatesville. They made their home in the Hamilton area. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1942. She continued to reside in the Gatesville/Lampasas area until moving to Hill County and the Abbot area a few years ago. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janie (Julia) Dunn; three sons, Oran Ezekial Dunn, Henry (Jack) Dunn and Floyd Edmond Dunn; and several grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Mitchell of Izoro, Marie Banks of Lampasas, and Ruthie Rolan of Abbot; a son, Clarence Dunn of McGregor; 27 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 33 great-great-grandchildren. (GM 6 Jan 1999)
