Born on the family farm, the third of three children of James Elvert "Pete" and Leta Viola Snelling McKibben, she married Dale Woodrow Ile on Aug. 12, 1939 in Henderson, KY. They had four children.
She is survived by three daughters, a sister, Beulah Henderson, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, and a son and a brother died before her.
Eva was deeply committed to her family and to caring for the needs of others. Her Christian religion was a daily focus in the way she lived and loved. She wrote:
"When we get to heaven, if we do,
It won't make any difference
How big our house was, car or
Diamond rings or clothes
But how many people I helped,
How much love I showed my
Friends, family and fellow man,
How many times I told my family
I loved them and forgot the mistakes."
