Jerry Wayne "Bo" Abbott, 59, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the V.A. Hospital in Salem. He was the husband of Mary Jane Dolan Abbott. Born November 20, 1952 in Lynchburg, Bo was the son of the late Horace G. and Helen Tyler Abbott. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Bo is survived by three step-daughters, Rebecca Hart and husband Bob of Lynchburg, Debbie Wooten and husband Rip of Forest, and Cheryl Shepherd and husband Rob of McKinney, TX; two sisters, Shirley Reynolds and husband Dale of Lynchburg and Barbara Duff and husband Donald of Madison heights; one brother, Gene Abbott of Lynchburg and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Eastbrook Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Walkup and the Rev. Carlton Duck officiating. Entombment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest with military honors by Virginia Army National Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, September 28, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and other times at the residence. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Eastbrook Baptist Church. Whitten Timberlake Chapel is serving the family.
