Death came to him on February 17, 1906 after an upright and honorable life, a life which is a proud heritage to his children. On March 12, 1861 he was married to Rebecca A. The children are as follows: Vero and George of Chicago, Mrs. Emma Magruder and Charles of Washington, Mrs. Mollie Magruder, Mrs. Dora Bush, Miss Lillie and J. W. of this vicinity.

Any mention of Mr. Kidwell's life would be incomplete without telling of his religious convictions and practice. He joined the church and was baptized by Rev. W. R. Painter in 1865 during a meeting conducted by Revs. Wily G. Patrick, W. R. Painter and A. N. Byrd. He assisted in organizing the Baptist church in his neighborhood known as the Oak Ridge church. It is worthy of note that the four surviving charter members of that church who have had continuous membership therein are his wife, his brother, Benjamin Franklin and his two sisters Mmes. Louisa Kimbel and Sophronia Barton. The bereaved family have the memory of his faithful Christian life to uphold them in their hour of sorrow.

Funeral services were held at Oak Ridge church Monday morning, conducted by Rev. Skinner of Macon. The remains were taken in charge by the Masonic lodge of this city who buried them with their impressive rites.
