Ralph Theodore Day - age 93 of Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Tennova Hospice.

He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the DAV, Veterans Honor Guard, Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Bodies and a Shriner. Preceded in death by wife, Vergie Jones Day; father, Rev. James T. Day and mother Maude Vandergriff Day; brothers, Buford, Bobby, Bill, and James (Doc) Day, sisters, Margaret, Gertrude, Reba, Lucille, and Helen.

Survivors include her daughters, Patsy Shephard and husband Willis, and Linda Tortorich; son-in-law, Paul Davis; grandchildren, Melissa (Davis) Robinson and husband Darren, Stephanie (Davis) Collins and husband Jude, Glynna Tortorich, and Sammy Tortorich; great grandchildren Devon Robinson, CPL Jude Michael Collins, and LCPL Jordan Collins; great-great granddaughters Zoey and Faith Collins; special caregiver, Monika Santos-Sivla.

The would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Tennova Hospice.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel with Reverend Guy Milam officiating.

Family and friends will meet at the main entrance to Greenwood Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. Friday for Graveside services at 10:00 a.m. with full military honors conducted by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
