I live in Knoxville TN and I enjoy exploring graveyards. After I retired, my cousin asked me to find out where my gg grandfather was buried. I found that a memorial had been created on findagrave.com, thanks to the efforts of Larry and Edie Doepel, who had walked and photographed almost every cemetery in Campbell County.
I started looking for other ancestors and there were some on findagrave and others were missing. I was able to find everyone on the past 3 generations with a lot of research and work.
I also documented the entire cemetery where possible timewise and weatherwise. If I've created a memorial of your family member or friend, I'd be happy to transfer. If you'd like to use any of my photos, please feel free to do so without attribution.
I greatly respect every single soldier who served during WW II. It was a brutal long war. It was a war that could have ended freedoms and prosperity for America. It was a war that had to be won. God bless every single WW II patriot.
Five of my grandparents sons (my Dad and 4 uncles) served in the military service; four of them served during WW II. I am honored to have known them all. God bless them. They were just honest, hard-working eighth-grade educated farm boys cast into a brutal conflict far from the comforts of home.
They served proudly and asked nothing in return after they came home. I am extremely proud of each of them: Albert, Carson, Homer, Melvin, and Dennis Wood.
