Mrs. Christine Shevland, 73, a resident of Tacoma for the past 40 years, died at her home, 2520 South J Street, on Wednesday morning, Feb 26, 1930.

Christine (Knutson) Rasmusdtr Vier was born Sept 13, 1856 in Hana, Norway to parents Ramus Knutson Vier and his wife Ane.

She was married to Bertran Shevland, date unknown. Ten children were born to this union.

Surviving relatives include seven sons, Alfred, Thomas, Martin, Rictor, Thorval, Fred, and Garman; and two daughters, Mrs Clara Harper, and Mrs Sarah Turner, both of Tacoma; four sisters, Mrs Belle Moe of Tacoma, Mrs Olson of California, and Mrs Lena Lund and Mrs Anna Thompson, both os Minnesota; three brothers, Chris Knutson, of Tacoma, Ned Knudson of Minnesota, and Ross Rasmussen of California.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bertran, on Dec 5, 1907 and her infant daughter, Martha, in 1900.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mellingers.

Mrs Knutson is known as a Tacoma pioneer woman.
