She married Ramus Knutson (Vier) on April 20, 1854 in Norway. Ten children were born to this union; three sons and seven daughters.
She and Ramus came to Chicago, Illinois soon after their marriage. They returned to Norway in 1856 because of Rasmus health concerns. In 1883, Ane and Ramus returned to America to join the rest of their family in Cambridge, Iowa. From here they moved to Adrian, MN.
Ane, suffering with asthma, went to stay with her daughter, Christine Shevland, in Tacoma, WA in 1898. Ramus was to follow as soon as business matters were in order.
Ramus died suddenly in Adrian, MN in 1898 and is buried in the Adrian Minnesota Cemetery.
On Jan 4, 1899, Ane passed away in Tacoma, WA and is buried in Old Tacoma Cemetery in Tacoma, WA.
Cause of death was listed as Pneumonia.
