Stratford- Services for Velma Elizabeth Michener, 52, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Stratford church of Christ. Alan Soders, Quinlin, Tex., will conduct the services.
Mrs. Michener was born March 31, 1921 in Stratford. She died Sunday in Stratford. She was a member of the Stratford church of Christ and was a veteran of WWII. She had lived in Stratford for three years. Mr. and Mrs. Michener were house parents for Boles Home for children, Quinlin, Tex., for two years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert B., Quinlin, Texas; two sons, Robert C., Lawton, and Curtis, OKC; two daughters, Valerie Ray, Norman, and Beverley Atchinson, Bradenton, Fla.; her mother, Hannah Griffin, Stratford; nine sisters and one brother.
The family says those who wish may make contributions in Mrs. Michener's memory to the Boles Home for Children. Burial will be in McGee Cemetery.
