Funeral services for Mrs. India King, 80, a lifelong resident of Victoria, who died Monday in a local hospital after a short illness, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter's Baptist Church.
The body will lie in state Thursday at Barefield Funeral Home.
She was born Jan. 24, 1910, in Victoria, to the late Plesant Johnson and Carrie Johnson Jewett. She was a member of St. Peter's Baptist Church. She belonged to various church organizations and the Homemakers Extension Club.
Surviving are three daughters; Hazel Prince of Victoria, Julia Dear of Detroit, Mich., Elizabeth Powell of San Angelo; three sons, Sterling King of Los Angeles, Calif., Frank G. King of Menlo Park, Calif., Arlee King of Ragcliff, Ky.; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
