Glen S Healy

Glen was born in January 4, 1919 in Provo, UT the 6th child of John Frank and Edith Sharp Healy. Glen peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father and family July 28, 2010. He leaves his family filled with sorrow, love and the utmost respect.
Glen grew up in Orem, Utah on the family farm where they raised fruit to sell and eat. He milked the family cow so his mother could make butter from the milk to sell. Glen also learned to make bread which had to be made everyday. Sometimes the family with 6 growing children would consume 8 - 10 loaves per day. One of Glen's favorite "go to" meals was homemade bread and milk. He attended Lincoln High School.
On August 13, 1940, he married his friend and sweetheart of 50 years, Ora Johnson. Glen and Ora were blessed with four wonderful children, Kelly (Linda) Healy of Mt Pleasant; John (Joan) Healy of Ferron; Jo (Bob) Gathercole of Jackson, WY and Paul (Cheri) Healy of Jackson, WY.
He served his country during World War II in the Navy and was honorably discharged March 13, 1946.
Glen had a wide range of interests starting and ending with hunting and fishing. He was blessed with ambition and energy. After returning from the war he learned masonry trade from Bob Johnson and later co-founded Prestwich and Healy Construction Company with partner Harold Prestwich. He took pride in the many construction projects built by Prestwich and Healy Construction Company: Orem City building, Scera swimming pool, Wasatch State Park, Spanish Fork High School, American Fork High School, and many other structures in and around Utah.
One of his life long dreams was to own a ranch. In 1960 he purchased a farm in Sanpete County where he and the family worked and played for many years. After retirement he and Ora relocated to their ranch near Mt. Pleasant where his love of farming and gardening continued throughout the rest of his life. He took great pleasure in working the land and raising crops. Nothing pleased him more than to have his family assist him in this endeavor. The San Pitch River, which flowed through the property, offered him the challenge of fishing for the elusive brown trout which was a favorite pastime.
He was active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. In December 1995, Ora passed away after a prolonged illness. Glen later married Anna Seeley who preceded him in death earlier in 2010.
Glen is survived by his children, 13 grand children, 17 great grand children and one great- great grand child. He is also survived by his brother Lester and wife Melpha. His memories will continue to live through his family and he will be greatly missed.
The family extends heart felt gratitude to Autumn Park and their caring staff as well as IHC Hospice and especially Helen Parry who attended to Glen during the final months of his life.
The funeral service will be held at Rasmussen Mortuary, 96 N 100 W, Mt Pleasant on Tuesday 11 am with a viewing 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery following the service.
