Nora was raised in Fort Scott Kansas. After she had obtained her degreee in education she and her husband John, who preceded her in death, moved to New York. They then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where they both had teaching careers. After retirement, in 1979, they moved to Beaumont Texas.
