Obituary

Mrs. Nettie Figg died at her home south of the city April 30th, 1893, at the age of 36 years, 7 months and 10 days. She was born September 10th 1856, in Washington county, Iowa. Her maiden name was Tyler. December 17th, 1874, she was married to Wm. Figg, who, with five sons and three daughters, survives her.

she united with the Christian church in Iowa City when only fourteen years of age; she was the first convert under the ministry of J. Mad. Williams. It was her request that Bro. Williams should conduct her funeral service. Bro. Williams could not come, and the funeral was held from the church, conducted by the pastor. Sister Figg was a faithful disciple and had a large circle of friends.

The bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of their friends.

The Deceased the Victim of the Dreaded Lung Disease

Yesterday about 12 o'clock Mrs. Nettie Figg, the wife of Wm. Figg, died at her home in Pleasant Valley township.

She has been suffering for about six months from an attack of the dreaded lung disease and her death was not a surprise to her friends.

Eight children survive her with her husband to mourn the loss of a dear and loving mother and wife.

The funeral services will take place at the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev J. Mad Williams officiating.
