Donald Richard "Don" Anderson, of Lodgepole, NE. died Sunday afternoon, September 23, 2012 at the Via Christi Health Hospital in Wichita, KS. Donald the son Clyde William and Bertha Louise (Glause) Anderson was born August 14, 1922 at Palmer, NE.

Don grew up in the sand hills of Nebraska where he worked for several ranches in the area. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his discharge he returned to the sand hills where he met Deloris Evans and they were married in August of 1951. To this union four children were born. They made their home in the sand hills where he worked as a ranch hand. The family moved to Chadron, NE. in 1966 where he was employed in various occupations. In 1970 they moved to Lodgepole where he worked for different road construction companies.

Don was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors are: sons, Rick and wife, Carrie Anderson of Chadron, NE. and Randy and wife, Julie Anderson of Tucson, AZ.; daughters: Cathy and husband, Gene Brown of Latham, KS. and Cindy and husband Allan Bruns of Dundee, OR.; grandchildren: Misty, Amanda, Michael, Elyse and Erica and great-grandchildren Alpine and Zoey.

Don was preceded in death by: parents; wife, Deloris Anderson; three brothers and six sisters.

Graveside services were at the Whitman Cemetery, Whitman, NE.
