Ida was born July 28, 1938, to Louis and Cora (Hanson) Cvancara in Debing Township, Mountrail County. She was raised and attended school in that area. Ida married Rholin Swenningson on Sept. 4, 1959. He died in October 1961. Ida married Lance Giese on April 3, 1970.
Ida had worked as a waitress, painter and housekeeper. She also worked as a bartender at the Hilltop Bar in Ross, helped at Doris' Upholstery Shop and drove school bus for many years, always enjoying being around the kids. Ida was an awesome baker, cook and candy maker. She loved to garden and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles.
Ida entered the Mountrail Bethel Home in 2000. She enjoyed visiting with other residents and loved the staff who took such good care of her.
Ida is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Monte) Glasoe, Noonan; son, Donald (Carrie) Giese, of Ross; grandchildren, David Garaas, Minot, Quentin and Jasmyn Giese, of Ross; brothers, Eugene (Sharon) Cvancara, Brighton, Colo., and Larry (Edith) Cvancara, Rapid City, S.D.; sister, Mary Ann Bokn, Brighton; sister-in-law, Bonnie Frisinger, Tioga; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rholin; son, Danny Joe; brothers, Donald and Leo; sister-in-law, Elenor Cvancara; brother-in-law, Andrew Bokn; niece, Judy Baker.
Her funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. at Our Savior's Free Lutheran Church, Stanley.
Burial will follow at the Western Fraternal Bohemian Cemetery, rural Ross.
