Jacobsen, Lorraine Elizabeth, 82, of Ashland, VA, received her wings on Thursday, September 20, 2012 due to pneumonia at Henrico Doctors Hospital. Lorraine was born on June 19, 1930 in Medford, Massachusetts. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Duffee and Louise Duffee. She is predeceased by her brothers, Robert, Richard, Lawrence, and twin Leonard, and her sister, Lois. She is survived by her husband Raymond Sr. with whom she shared 57 years of marriage; her four children, Elizabeth, Raymond Jr. and his wife Amy, Ronald and his wife Vicky, and Christopher and his wife Jenny; grandchildren, Katherine, Peter, Tristan, Joanna, Christina, Sofia, Henry, and Matilda.Lorraine was married on July 10, 1954 in New York. She graduated from high school and Dental Technician school in Manhattan. Lorraine was a Dental Assistant for ten years for Dr. Malamut. She lived most of her life in New York, moving to Ashland in 1993 to be near her family. Lorraine had a talent for painting and drawing; she also enjoyed sewing, baking and Bingo. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church since 1993. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23, 2012 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA. The Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 24, 2012 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Father Chris Haydinger officiating.
