Ruben Aguilar, 77, of Calexico, CA passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 from Pancreatic Cancer at his home with his family.

Ruben retired from the US Postal Service in 1989, age 56 with 32 years of service. His home building skills were enhanced while employed at the Calexico Hardware under Mr. George Annos guidance from 1953 to 1958.

His hobbies were remodeling his home, photography, and his family. Most important and pleasurable to Ruben was being with family, friends and colleagues. Always the perfect host with a smile. As a lifelong car buff, he was always up to date on all autos.

He was a true honest, caring, giving and nurturing individual, fiercely loyal. Always the playful gentleman with a twinkle in his eye. He is missed by all. His absence creates a huge void in all of our lives.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alejandro and Maria Parra Aguilar; brother, Hector Aguilar; his parents-in-law, Silvestre and Petra Soria Badajos; brother-in-law Antonio (Bebop) Badajos and sister-in-law, Laura Marie Aguilar.

He is survived by his wife, Isabel (Chavela) Badajos Aguilar; sons, Ruben Anthony and John Xavier Aguilar; loving daughters, Maria Elena (Nia) and Dorie C.
