SALISBURY - Mildred "Ann" Hoffman Hargis, age 80, of Salisbury, formerly of Myrtle Beach, S.C., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Genesis Healthcare.
Mrs. Hargis was born Jan. 25, 1932, in Salisbury, a daughter of the late Ruth Cornelison Hoffman and Henry Arthur Hoffman, Sr. Ann was a graduate of Boyden High School, and in earlier life, served in the U.S. Air Force WAF.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Q. Hargis, who died in December 2007; brothers David Robert Hoffman and Henry A. Hoffman, Jr.; sisters Martha Hoffman Kennerly and Elizabeth Hoffman Williams.
Those left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Joyce Moorefield of Salisbury, James P. Hoffman, Sr. of Stone Mountain, Ga., Eleanor Balestrino of Salisbury, Charles "Al" Hoffman of Salisbury, Samuel L. Hoffman of Salisbury and Patricia H. Harris of Salisbury; and 27 nieces and nephews.
Service: 2 p.m. Thursday at Summersett Memorial Chapel conducted by Dr. Jim Dunkin with burial to follow at City Memorial Park.
Summersett Funeral Home is serving the Hargis family.
