Mrs. Joyce Hoffman Moorefield, 92, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House. Born Jan. 27, 1923, in Rowan County to the late Ruth Cornelison Hoffman and Henry Arthur Hoffman, she was a graduate of Boyden High School. Mrs. Moorefield was a homemaker. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Salisbury Symphony where she played Bass Violin. She loved music, yard sales and looking after her kids. Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred C. Moorefield, in 1984 after 43 years of marriage; brothers and sisters David Hoffman, Elizabeth “Betsy” Williams, Henry A. Hoffman Jr., Martha Kennerly, Pete Hoffman Sr., and Ann Hargis. Surviving are daughters Linda Cleaver and husband Phil of Asheboro; Kitty Hinson and husband Donnie of Spencer; Ceily Davis of Garner and Loretta Higgins of Rockwell; brothers Al Hoffman and wife MaryAnn and Sam Hoffman and wife Barbara, all of Salisbury; sisters Eleanor “Suvy” Balestrino and Patricia Harris and husband Harold, all of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation: The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. Sunday (May 24) at Rowan Memorial Park. Service: A funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Rowan Memorial Park; conducted by Rev.
